Face-to-Face mental health support for young people on the IOW
23rd August 2021
Space 4 U, an out of hours mental health support service for young people aged 11-17, has relaunched its face-to-face sessions on the Isle of Wight after 18 months.
The service, which is run by No Limits, enables young people on the island to access instant emotional and practical support with their mental health, providing them with the tools and techniques to make positive changes.
Over the last 18 months, the service has been delivered virtually via Zoom and phone support due to the pandemic, however young people can now access support with their mental health in person.
Carol Yearby, Space 4 U’s project lead, said “We’re really pleased to be able to welcome young people back for face-to-face support. It’s so important, now more than ever, to support young people in their time of need and to help bring positive change to their mental health and wellbeing. Our aim is to give young people the tools to overcome some of life’s obstacles so they can build brighter futures.”
Young people, parents and professionals can find out more about Space 4 U at a pop-up event taking place at West Wight Leisure Centre on Thursday 26th August from 3-5pm, where there will be an opportunity to speak to the team and get involved with fun activities.
