Youth Ambassadors Present Campaign to Professionals
19th November 2025
Our Youth Ambassadors presented a campaign around domestic abuse to a room of professionals, including representatives from the NHS, Southampton City Council, the OPCC, Stop Domestic Abuse and Yellow Door.
They were one of three groups of young people across the country to be awarded funding by Youth Access to create a youth-led campaign about an issue that matters to them. The funding also included budget to employ two Youth Ambassadors to coordinate and steer the project.
Their campaign, Break the Cycle, aims to educate and spread awareness of the different types of violence against women and girls, what support is available for them and begin to build a community dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence.
The event at our HQ on the Avenue allowed invitees to hear about why domestic abuse had been chosen as the focus, a quiz and discussions around domestic abuse statistics and their aims for the future of the campaign.

The campaign branding symbolises the issue they aim to raise awareness of – teal and purple are the ribbon colours for sexual assault and domestic violence awareness; the pawn is the most unassuming piece on the board, having to face many adversities, difficulties and hardships to get to the other side of the board, but when it does, it has the option to become a queen, rook, bishop or knight, choosing its own destiny. This is similar the struggle that women and girls affected by domestic abuse face to take control of their lives.
