Fairways treats young carers to a fun-filled day at Paulton’s Park
7th September 2018
24 young carers were treated to a fun-filled day at Paulton’s Park courtesy of Fair Ways, the subsidiary of the charity, Fair Ways Foundation, who funded the tickets and coach trip for the day out.
The young carers, who are supported through No Limits’ Young Carers in Southampton project, were able to meet with other young people with similar life experiences and enjoy time away from their responsibilities as a carer.
Toni-Marie Leaf, Inclusion and Participation Service Manager, said “Young carers take on a high level of responsibilities that many adults would struggle with, as well as impacting on their physical and mental health, and education it can also mean they miss out on time with their friends and access to fun activities. This amazing opportunity to spend a day at Paulton’s Park, with a group of friends that understand their lives, allows them a chance to have a break and have fun with other young people that understand them. These opportunities have such a positive impact on the young carers that are able to access them.”
