Youth Ambassadors
Youth Ambassadors are a group of young people who help No Limits to develop and improve our services by offering an important youth voice.
They meet every two weeks at our Advice Centre and additionally help out at No Limits events, take part in focus groups and help staff to make No Limits more young-person friendly.
Most of our youth ambassadors have used No Limits’ services and take part in the group as a way of giving back the support they received or are receiving.
What do our Youth Ambassadors do?
Our Youth Ambassadors support us with work inside No Limits, as well as getting involved with external projects and organisations across our area, too. There’s way too many highlights to share all of them, but some of the amazing work our Youth Ambassadors have done includes:
Internal work
– Support in interviews for staff roles, thinking of and asking questions in the interviews
– Co-designed our mental health training for staff
– Supported the refresh of our website
– Volunteering and representing young people at No Limits events
– Planned the entire renovation of the group room at our Advice Centre
– Worked on No Limits’ 2024 – 2027 strategy
– Helped to plan our 30th birthday celebrations
Work with partners and external projects
– #iWill loneliness campaign: Worked with ITV Fixers to create a video around loneliness, which you can watch below, and wrote letters to elderly patients in University Hospital Southampton
– Became Health Ambassadors with Solent NHS and supported work around their complaints procedures
– Became a governance group for Child Friendly Southampton with UNICEF and Southampton City Council
– Worked with CAMHS and Solent NHS around supporting young people with neurodivergence
– Gave feedback to Health Education England on changing the wider children’s workforce mental health training
– Took part in a consultation on outcome measures for an evaluation of Early Support Hubs
