Children and Young People celebrate No Limits’ 25th Birthday

20 September 2018

We turned 25 this summer, and to mark the milestone, children and young people celebrated with a Hawaiian themed party at the No Limits Advice Centre in Central Southampton, which included Hawaiian food, mocktails, a pinata, the limbo, a treasure hunt, gifts and pottery painting. The beneficiaries of the charity also painted the walls of the No Limits Advice Centre with their handprints, leaving their mark on the building that sits at the heart of No Limits.

Young people, like Emma, also shared stories of their journey, and how No Limits has made a difference in their lives. Hannah spoke of her story, explaining: “About a year ago I was kicked out [of home] and No Limits helped me set up things like bank accounts, they helped me to setup my universal credit and I managed to order my birth certificate from here. Thanks to No Limits I am now living independently and I have been for just over a year now. Thank you to everyone who helped me.”

No Limits Youth Worker, Holly Conroy, said “It was a great day spent between workers, young people and their families. Everyone came together to celebrate all the hard work and achievements made by both No Limits and the young people who use our service. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate!”

In the spirit of these celebrations, No Limits is asking for donations of £25 pounds for its 25th birthday, so that the staff and volunteers can continue to provide crucial help to the young people of Southampton.

For £25 No Limits can:
• Provide 5 food bags for homeless young people
• Hold a support group session for 6 young people
• Provide shower and laundry facilities for 10 young people
• Use food from Fareshare for five Cook and Eat sessions, teaching young people how to feed themselves well
• Provide a young carer with a fun day out and respite from their caring duties
