Youth Worker (Young Adult Carers)


No Limits is a Youth, Information, Advice and Counselling service (YIAC) based in Southampton. Our mission is to help relieve and prevent suffering caused by mental or physical ill-health or social and economic circumstances. We believe that all young people should be offered access to advice and support to help them explore their options, gain skills and resources and feel empowered to make informed decisions.
No Limits are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic youth worker to join our team within the established Next Steps programme. The role will involve working with young adult carers to support them through transition, promoting education, employment and independent life skills through the delivery of individual action plans, group worker and access to positive activities.
Duties include undertaking young carers transition assessments, creating support plans and offering specialist support through one to one and group work, and identifying positive and fun activities and opportunities for young people to develop skills, gain learning and successfully transition into adulthood.
The successful applicant will have experience in youth work, case holding and group facilitation, will have a good understanding of the issues that face young people, particularly young adult carers. They will be committed to developing positive relationships and have a good working knowledge of safe practices and safeguarding processes.

This role is funded by the Big Lottery Reaching Communities fund.

This post is for 37 hours per week.  Evenings and weekend work will be required.
Salary Scale: SCP 9-17 starting salary £20,344.
