No Limits wins Children and Young People Now Award!
We are named the best Advice and Guidance project at the national Children and Young People Now Awards ceremony
We are delighted to announce that No Limits was declared the winner of the Advice and Guidance category at the national Children and Young People Now Awards during a ceremony at the Hurlingham Club, London yesterday!
The awards, organised by industry publication Children and Young People Now, highlight and recognise work that enables children to reach their true potential, especially those facing difficult circumstances in life.
Our Southampton drop in centres won the award for doing the most to provide young people with information and support in making sound life choices. The judges admired how we give children and young people the chance to simply show up and seek help with issues including housing, education and training, health, finances and rights.
The judging panel praised the centre’s “big reach” and “really positive work”. “The centres help young people at risk, are open to all, and have reached a lot of people”, they said. 2,739 children and young people were supported on 7,587 occasions last year.
Annabel Hodgson, our Chief Executive, says: “We are thrilled to have won the Children and Young People Now Award for Advice and Guidance. Providing information, advice and guidance to local children and young people is the core of our work, and it enables them to make well-informed, positive life choices.”
Liz Carter, our Workforce Development Team Leader, attended the awards on behalf of No Limits. She had a great evening meeting representatives from different charities and organisations, and said: ‘It was such an inspiring event’.
