No Limits and Solent NHS Trust to provide Public Health Nursing service

16 March 2015

From April 1st 2015, a team of school nurses, support team members and staff from No Limits will support children and young people in Southampton throughout their time at school and college to help identify any health needs which may affect their ability to learn. Every school and college in Southampton will have a named school nurse to help look after the health and wellbeing of young people and their families. The team will work with GPs, schools, colleges, hospitals and other community services to ensure that the children and young people in Southampton will reach their full potential through receiving the help and support they need.

Annabel Hodgson, CEO of No Limits, said: “No Limits are looking forward to working in partnership with Solent NHS Trust to develop and deliver the new Public Health Nursing Service. Our Family Navigators will work with GP practices to support families where children or young people’s attendance or attainment in education is impacted by health issues, and our Emotional Health and Wellbeing staff will work with the schools and in the community to deliver holistic support to children and young people on health issues relevant to their lives.”
