Youth Worker – Early Help (Term Time Only)

Closing on: Mar 2, 2026

No Limits is the leading youth services charity in Southampton, supporting children and young people in the city and across Hampshire.

At No Limits, it is important our staff and volunteers reflect, represent, and have experience of the challenges faced by the children and young people we support. We are proud of and appreciate our many staff and volunteers who use their own lived experience to support the children and young people they work with.

With this in mind, we are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of our work and organisational culture – and when recruiting, it’s important to us that we continue diversifying our staff and volunteer teams, with children and young people at the centre of everything we do. You can learn more about our DEI approach here.

When we talk about talent, we value the transferrable skills and experiences you can bring to No Limits, whether through work (in the same or a different sector), volunteering, or personal experiences. To make sure we get the best talent on our team, we are open to and actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and sections of the community, including diverse ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and neurodiverse individuals.

We’re looking for a Youth Worker to join our Early Help Team. This role will involve working directly with schools / colleges, and delivering health and wellbeing drop-ins, including providing one-to-one support for young people.

  • Deliver open-access drop-in and scheduled one-to-one sessions within secondary schools and colleges in Southampton
  • Engage and build positive relationships with children and young people
  • Act as an advocate for children and young people and refer them on to other relevant agencies and services, as appropriate, to ensure their needs are appropriately met
  • Working within the Youth Information, Advice and Counselling Services (YIACS) model, address the wider practical and social issues that may be affecting a young person’s wellbeing such as relationships, healthy behaviours, sexual health, housing, benefits, attendance and attainment in education
  • Provide quality up-to-date information, advice and support which supports young people’s personal and social development
  • Provide information and advice in a way that is understandable and accessible to children and young people and enables them to explore options, gain skills and resources, solve problems and make informed choices
  • Deliver sessions to groups and individuals on range of healthy behaviours such as emotional health, self-esteem, smoking cessation, healthy eating, wellbeing, health related school attendance issues, sexual health behaviours and relationships and other lifestyle related matters
  • Deliver interventions to meet the needs of the school or college population
  • Use appropriate tools to measure children and young people’s wellbeing at set points along their journey with No Limits

Please see the job description for further details about the responsibilities of the role.

We particularly welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and those who have had experiences similar to the young people we aim to support. We are committed to creating a diverse environment where people can be their authentic selves, where their experiences and opinions are valued, and we are all open to learning from each other.

As part of our team, you’ll receive a comprehensive induction and access to learning and development opportunities relevant to your role, supporting your ongoing growth.
