We’re holding out for a Hero! Well, 23 Heroes actually.
29 February 2016
We’re 23 this year and to celebrate we’re holding out for 23 Heroes!
Back in 1993 we were just starting out. By November we had our own phone line but not yet any premises. Today we have two centres, a presence in all schools and colleges in Southampton and lots of phones. How times change!
To celebrate us turning 23, we are looking for 23 Everyday Heroes – ordinary individuals who really want to help young people in need but aren’t sure how. A cape isn’t essential, just a willingness to have some fun over the course of a year, raise some money and help us help vulnerable young people in Southampton
Heroic acts can be big or small and are limited only by your imagination – it doesn;t have to be amountain climbing expeditin (though it could be!).
Perhaps you could host a party or a movie night at home, and everyone who attends to put into a pot what they would have spent on a night out.
Or you could ask for donations to No Limits instead of presents for your birthday or Christmas or wedding anniversary.
Or you could set up a regular donation, or save up all your pennies in your penny jar.
Or ask your friends to sponsor you to run/swim/cycle from your house to London, Paris – or New York!
What do you think YOU could do? We’d love to hear your ideas!
Whatever you can do, if you want to be a Hero, we want to hear from you! Contact Rebecca.firstname.lastname@example.org or call 023 80224224 for more information.
