Just 4U provides Independent Advocacy and Independent Visiting for children and young people
The Southampton Just 4U Service supports children and young people aged 10-18 who are looked after by Southampton Children’s Services (even if you aren’t living in Southampton), or who have a social worker, and with care leavers aged 18-21.
“My advocate helped me speak up in my meetings and helped me understand what was going on”
Our Independent Advocates are friendly and professional and can help you decide what you want to say in any meetings you have about your care. They can give you information about your rights and help you decide what you want to do. They don’t do anything without your say so and are there to make sure your voice is heard. They can also help you decide if you want to make a formal complaint if you are unhappy about the care you have recieved.
Over the year we worked with 140 young people to provide them with advocacy, and young people involved have complimented the service saying it is “very helpful and very understanding”. Overall, 96.5% of young people rate the service as good or better.
Just 4U Independent Advocates work to the National Advocacy Standards to provide you with Independent Advocacy.
You can get in touch with us directly on 02380 224224 or email@example.com, or get an adult you trust to fill in a referral form here.
Please note than from April 2018 the Just 4 U service will only be able to deliver advocacy to Looked After Children from Southampton.
“I feel good about the visits and I have someone just for me that I can talk to”
Would you like an Independent Visitor?
Our Southampton Just 4U Service supports children and young people aged 10-18 who are looked after by Southampton Children’s Services (even if you aren’t living in Southampton), or who have a social worker, and with care leavers aged 18-21.
Independent Visitors are trained volunteers who you meet once a month.
If you want an Independent Visitor, we will come and meet you and talk with you about the kind of person you’d like to spend time with. We’ll bring you information about people who we think might match up to what you want, then you pick the person you want.
Once you have picked your Independent Visitor, we’ll help you meet them and then they will continue to visit with you to take part in activities that you decide on or just to spend time with you – it’s entirely up to you!
This year we have matched and maintained 10 young people with an Independent Visitor, undertaking over 80 visits. 100% of young people receiving an independent visitor rated the service as good or better.
If you would like to meet up with one of our Independent Visitors then please get in touch with us on 02380 224224 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or get a trusted adult to complete a referral form with you.

Telling people what you want and need can be difficult. You can use the MOMO One App by Mind of My Own (MOMO) anywhere, any time, on any device to help you organise your thoughts and tell your worker what you think in an easy way. Your worker will get a better insight into what’s going on, from your point of view. Click here to find out more about the app.
No Limits were awarded the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark (QPM) from the National Development Team for Inclusion in November 2018 to recognise the high standard of the Just 4 U Advocacy Service.
