Access to Tenancy (A2T)

Our Access to Tenancy (A2T) project can help if you are looking for rented accommodation in Southampton. Our programme is aimed at helping you to develop the skills to secure and maintain a tenancy and move into independent accommodation.

A2T includes pre-tenancy training. There are four workshops covering practical independent living skills like cooking, cleaning and looking after a home; your rights and responsibilities as a tenant, neighbour and housemate; budgeting and prioritising housing related payments, and hopefully many more useful things. These workshops can be attended in any order and you don’t have to do all four.

You will be encouraged to save a small amount of money to cover your moving costs. We can help you open a credit union account as this is a great way to start saving and they provide more affordable loans than many banks.

Once you have successfully completed the course, our team can help you look for affordable, suitable accommodation in the rented sector, and can provide some ongoing support. Many landlords require you to be working before you can secure a tenancy. No Limits can also help you with finding employment.

Ask any of the team at the Drop In Centre about this course or call us on 02380 224 224 for more information.

When : Next session 2-4pm 6th September. Another session is probably going to be on a Saturday – we are waiting to confirm a date.

Where: Advice Centre at 13 High Street, Southampton
