Advocacy Training – Southampton

National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) accredited Advocacy Training available in Southampton
This is a rare opportunity to attend this nationally recognised training, at a reasonable cost, whilst also saving on travel and accommodation. Usually delivered in London, No Limits has secured a course in Southampton, and there are just seven places available.
The training is suitable for people who would like to increase their understanding of advocacy, who are new to the field, and/or who wish to develop skills essential to providing advocacy support to young people.
It is also relevant to existing advocates, social workers, participation workers and children’s rights officers who would like gain to an accredited award and build on existing advocacy skills.
The course includes:
• What is advocacy
• The role and process of advocacy
• The three cornerstones of advocacy: child led, independence and confidentiality
• Children’s rights
• Ethics and principles underpinning advocacy
• Practical challenges and dilemmas
