Our Commitment to Supporting Lived and Living Experience

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Our Commitment to Supporting Lived and Living Experience

At No Limits, we are committed to creating a diverse environment where people can be their authentic self, where their experiences and opinions are valued, and we are all open to learn from each other.

To meet the individual needs, challenges and injustices the children and young people we support face, and to make them feel welcome, we are committed to change, where experts, with the same or similar experiences are embedded into all areas of our organisation.

We will also support staff, volunteers and children and young people to learn about lived experience, from each other and through both formal and informal learning opportunities.

If you have seen how we could do better, please contact us using the feedback form at the bottom of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion page, here.

Improves delivery and decision making
Lived experience gives us knowledge, skills experience and valuable insight, which we can include in planning, reporting and strategy development.

Increases diversity
We want a diverse range of staff and volunteers at all levels, where children and young people feel welcome and represented, as well as maximising accessibility and attracting talent.

Breaks down barriers
Lived experience can help to build strong, trusting relationships wit children and young people, making sure we are the go-to organisation for support.

Provides valuable learning and development
We want to be able to develop skills and knowledge around lived experience, through both informal and formal learning.

– Making sure our services and activities remain true to our vision, mission and values.

– Supporting, recognising and communicating the value of lived experience.

– Making sure our services and activities reflect the needs of the children and young people we support.

– Giving lived experience consideration and value, as we would for professional experience and qualifications.

– Challenging wider discrimination and practice.

– Leading by example and promote best practice both inside and outside of No Limits.

– Building lived experience into our strategies, planning and budgeting.

– Investing in health and wellbeing support for our staff and volunteers.

– Creating informal and formal learning and development opportunities for everyone.
